League of Women Voters of Chicago - "Chicago Government in Focus" Lecture Series

The Union League Club of Chicago’s Public Affairs Committee is pleased to co-sponsor a series of civic forums in partnership with the League of Women Voters of Chicago. These early evening programs focus on Chicago government with prominent guest speakers who share their insights and engage audience members in dialogue on the important issues facing the city. Each LWV-Chicago Lecture program begins at 5:00 p.m. and concludes by 7:00. Complimentary snacks will be served and a signature bar will be available for beverages of your choice.
The speaker for the November 28 installment of the Lecture Series is NBC5 Political Reporter Mary Ann Ahern, who will address "What the Election Results Mean for Chicago."
Mary Ann Ahern joined the NBC 5 Chicago news in March 1989 as a general assignment reporter. Before coming to NBC 5, Ahern was the political reporter for WXIA-TV in Atlanta, Georgia, and she also served as Reporter/Weekend Anchor at WEEK-TV in Peoria, Illinois. During her reporting career in Chicago, she has covered everyday events from elections to snowstorms, filing reports on the Democratic National Convention, Princess Diana's visit to Chicago, the Bulls championship season and the White House.
